The ADS (Astrophysics Data System) database is now available to Heriot-Watt staff and students. This database gives details of over 10 million journal articles about physics and astronomy.

ADS indexes both peer reviewed and non-peer reviewed journal articles, and also includes the ArXiv pre-prints database.  Although ADS is freely available on the internet, it has now been configured to link to Heriot-Watt journal subscriptions: in ADS click on the “E” above the abstract to check for Heriot-Watt access.  This new feature is available on and off campus, via the ADS link on the physics subject guide or the database list.
