During the University of Edinburgh exam period SCONUL Access reference members will have reduced access to the University of Edinburgh Main Library. Between Monday 14 April and Friday 23 May 2014 inclusive reference members will only be able to use the University of Edinburgh library after 5.30 pm, and will not be allowed in during the day.
This applies only to the University of Edinburgh’s Library at George Square; other University of Edinburgh libraries and the Heriot-Watt University Library are unaffected. If your SCONUL Access card says “Band A”, “Band B” or “Band C” (instead of “Band Reference”) you can continue to use the University of Edinburgh Main Library throughout their opening hours.
SCONUL Access allows students to use other UK universities’ libraries. Undergraduates can use other libraries for studying, and postgraduates, staff and distance learners are often allowed to borrow a limited number of books. (SCONUL Access does not give access to other universities’ computers or e-journals.) If you’d like to join SCONUL Access you can ask for more information in the Library or apply online.
See Edinburgh University library page for more information.
