Edinburgh-based Information Services staff have been working with HWU Malaysia colleagues to prepare their new campus for its opening in September.
Planning, specification and design of the campus’s internet and telephone connections, networks and telephone systems, servers and PCs and a state-of-the art library have been going on over the past 3 years.
HWUM will not have local information systems; its students and staff will use the same VLE, email, library catalogue, online journals and e-books, student records, finance system, etc that Information Services deliver worldwide, 24×7.
The new library is pictured. The local book collection is developing gradually, with new purchases and copies of key texts from Edinburgh beginning to fill the shelves. The 71,000 eBooks and 50,000 electronic journals of our integrated global collection are also all available to HWUM.
