Now that the exam period looms you might find the following tips useful…toptip

  1. Give yourself enough time to study
  • Don’t leave it until the last minute
  • Create a study timetable
  1. Organize your study space
  • Space? Light? Comfortable chair?
  • Get rid of distractions
  1. Flow charts and diagrams can help
  • highlight key concepts/terms
  • simplify and summarise your information
  1. Practice on past papers or sample questions can
  • help you get used to the format of the paper
  • get your timing right
  1. Explain your answers to anyone that will listen
  • Brothers and sisters
  • Parents and friends
  1. Organize study groups with friends
  • Have study sessions with friends
  • Stay focused on the topic and agreed on the amount of time
  1. Take regular breaks
  • Snack on ‘brain food’
  • Get some exercise
  • Drink plenty of water
  1. Plan your exam day
  • Make sure you know when and where your exams are
  • Have all the materials you need for the exam organised
