Which version of Microsoft Office should I use?

What are the options?

  • The current version of Microsoft Office on the HW managed desktop is Office 2013
  • All staff and students also have Office 365

Office 365

Office 365 is Microsoft’s Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote), email, calendar, document storage (OneDrive for Business with 1Tb of storage) and collaboration products made available in the “cloud”.  You can access these products from your web browser, your PC and your mobile devices from anywhere in the world. The online apps in Office 365 are a scaled down but very useful version of the full application.

When you create a file in Office 365 it is stored in your OneDrive for Business.

At your work desk

You should use Office 2013 as usual – that way you get access to the full range of features and functions in each application and you can save easily to the HW secure file store (e.g. your H: or S: drive).

Away from the office

If you have access to a desktop PC/laptop with Office on it – use it so that you can access all the features and functions of the desktop version.

If you don’t have the full version of Office on your device, you can use Office 365 from your web browser, mobile device or phone to create and edit files.  Files created using Office 365 will be stored to OneDrive for Business.

See our File Storage page for more information on file storage options.

  1. I have already experienced with it, so for that, I just prefer 2007 version which is great for all, so for further about it if you interested with it then just visit some review by which you will be very helpful.
