Removal of QuickTime player from HWU desktop PCs

quicktimeFollowing recent reports that Apple is no longer updating QuickTime player for Windows (see Uninstall Apple® QuickTime to Protect Your PC From Security Vulnerabilities) we will be removing it from the university desktop w/b 13th June.

All of the main video and audio formats e.g. QuickTime Movie (.mov), MPEG-4(.mp4, .m4v), AVI (Motion JPEG only)  will play successfully with Windows Media Player, VLC player or in your browser (IE, Firefox, Chrome) so we do not anticipate that this will cause any technical issues for users.

If you have any queries regarding the removal of QuickTime please contact ithelp@hw.ac.uk
