JANET, telephony and VPN maintenance and upgrade work is scheduled for the weekend of the 7th & 8th January 2017

JANET connection upgrade to 10Gbps: 7th & 8th January

JISC engineers will be carrying out upgrade work on the  JANET connection of all universities and colleges in the city of Edinburgh. This upgrade work will increase our network capacity to 10Gbps and whilst we are pleased by the additional potential network capacity this will offer us in future, we have little influence over the timing.

• 09:00 – 11:00 – loss of service both days
• Service at risk all weekend
• All campuses affected

Telephony system maintenance: 8th January

• Time: 09:00 – 12:00
• Edinburgh campus only – areas affected are: –
  • Oriam
  • Moyen House
  • Lyell Centre
  • James Watt Centre Reception Desk
  • Learning Commons Service Desk
  • Allen McTernan Building (users with Mitel handsets)

Maintenance work on the VPN service: 8th January

• 09:00 – 12:00 – disruption to Edinburgh, SBC and Orkney VPN service
