Information Services extend a warm welcome to all new students joining Heriot-Watt University this semester.

We provide Audio Visual, IT and library services across our campuses and you’ll find lots of information about us on our web pages.

All new students should take a look at our Getting Started guide.

The Getting Started guide will direct you to information on

• IT services – email, wifi, vle, FREE SOFTWARE, passwords, the student PCs and PC labs
• Library services – opening hours, induction sessions, who to contact for help
• Study spaces – there are lots of different study spaces and environments. On the Edinburgh campus, we’re VERY excited to be opening the Learning Commons – which is essentially an extension of the library study spaces – but centrally located close to the lecture theatres, Student Service Centre, food outlets and shops
• Workshops and skills development opportunities to help you get the most out of your time at university
