Students at UK campuses can join other UK and Ireland university libraries via SCONUL Access. If you live closer to a different university, or regularly visit another city, this scheme can get you access to a more local university library.
With SCONUL Access you will be able to use the library for studying and can browse the paper books and journals within the library building. Most libraries will have eduroam wifi, which you’ll be able to connect to with your Heriot-Watt login (you’ll get the Heriot-Watt eResources, not the eResources of the library you are visiting). Postgraduate and distance learning students might also be able to borrow books from the libraries they join – check the SCONUL Access webpages for more information.
